LITTLE VENICE

My Sunday stroll took place in Little Venice in London. I have been waiting and waiting to visit and as the sun sat in the sky that afternoon I dragged myself and my boyfriend out of bed to walk along the canals and catch some breakfast. We found a little café on a boat that served simple sandwiches/Panini's and hot food from full English breakfast to jacket potatoes...Just what we needed after a rather late night out, and we were feeling some-what fragile.
This location is so pretty on a Spring/Summers day. Everyone had the same idea too, riding their bike along the canals and families enjoying an afternoon overlooking the river. I loved taking a slow walk along the edge of the water thinking about which boats I'd choose if I had to pick which one to live in. They are so adorable. It would be such an adventure to have a house constantly on the move. To wake up to a new view every-day. A girl can dream.

I have yet to go to the real Sinking City -Venice, that is next on my list (fingers crossed) Or actually just Italy in general. I know how much I'd love it, the food, the culture, architecture. So until then, this place will just have to do until I go to Venice.

WHAT I WEAR TO WORK

CARDIGAN- RALPH LAUREN (Previous Fall Collection) JACKET- RALPH LAUREN (SIMILAR HERE ) BOOTS- TOPSHOP (OLD) HAT- ZARA ( SIMILAR HERE )

Today I thought I'd do a post on what I wear to work... seeing as these are the clothes I am wearing all day - 5 days out of the week. Usually my day is very hands-on so my attire is very practical. Day to day I tend to wear jeans, a jumper and some comfortable shoes as I am always on my feet and active. When I get an office day I like to make more of an effort, so laid-back Fridays or casj Jean day for everyone is my ditch the jeans and dress up a little bit more. Today I fast-forwarded to Friday and decided to make an effort in what I wear to work.
I love the elements to this outfits, the different layers, it is quite a wintery look after we have just stepped into Spring, but it is still very cold here in London.
I wanted to show off my new Ralph Lauren collection knit cardigan I bought from their previous fall collection. It's 100% cashmere, it looks beautiful, feels beautiful, I just stay snuggled in it all night long. I liked this idea of wearing a suit underneath inspired by the look that walked Runway. So I played with it and paired it with a beige tweed Ralph Lauren riding jacket, my granddad's old shirt styled with a tied neck bow, jeans and my go-to black trilby.

PALM SPRING DREAMIN'

DRESS- H&M (FIND HERE )  JACKET- H&M (OLD) HAT -ZARA (SIMILAR HERE ) BOOTS- ZARA (OLD)

I love this ribbed jumper dress I bought from H&M, it's so comfortable and very practical. The slit up the leg and the flared cuffs add nice little details. I paired it with my suede jacket and perfectly matching trilby hat, I adore this colour combo.
I'm excited to wear this dress when it gets a bit warmer with a pair of converse for a sporty and laid-back feel.

A DAY IN PARIS

Girlie Lunch at KONG

Me and my fabulous girlfriends spent a lovely day in Paris...well just because we could. I mean a 2.5 hour journey on the Eurostar and we're in Paris, just like that!! It felt great to get out of London for the day and go and explore another city. I've been to Paris once before but it was the first time for my friend so we set out early to make sure we could squeeze in all the tourist attractions on our list.
We started at the Eiffel Tower, the day was pretty miserable with wind and rain so we were only allowed up on the second floor. We visited the Arc de Triomphe and completed our morning with a tasty lunch at KONG known for its Toyko// futuristic theme. The food menu is a little bit on the expensive side but it's worth it for a one off lunch with the exquisite décor and view! A few cosmopolitans didn't go a miss either ;)
After a hearty lunch we walked to the Notre Dame. I could literally sit there for hours admiring the architecture and listening to the hum of people whispering and shuffle of their feet. I felt a sort of mellowness sitting alongside one another in the cathedral, a time to reflect and un-wind.
After forcing ourselves out of there we stopped in for a quick hot chocolate to warm ourselves up from the wet and cold conditions outside. We made our way onto the Lourve Pyramids to get the famous picture before taking a rather adventurous ride on a tuk tuk through the City to then catching the last train home :)

I need more days like this <3

FlyKnit Nike's

Nike/ Selfridges (you can buy here)

I haven't worn a pair of trainers since I was in P.E running riot in my school playground, and even then, I still think I tried to get out of it by wearing plimsolls. I've never been too fond of trainers, I don't whether it's because I'm too much of a girly girl and into wearing pretty heels that kill my feet and not the sporty girl that opts for comfort. Or because I just believed that any other shoe is going to look 100 times better with that outfit than strapping on trainers to my feet. The only trainer-like style of footwear I liked were converse. I lived in them between the ages of 9-13 in my more grungy days of Avril Lavigne.

Recently though, I have been open to perhaps experimenting a little bit more with trainers. They've come a long way since when I used to remember them as the old Reebok classic and White Air Force 1's.

So one night my boyfriend and I are shopping in Selfridges and he decides he wants to buy himself his first pair of trainers... he's a converse lover too. He settles with a Classic Black pair of Nike's (to go with everything in his wardrobe that is black of course).
I definitely had to try them out now to see what I thought of them... And obviously it happened to be the first pair I tried on which I loved straight away.
The FlyKnit style trainer features woven fabric allowing for a supportive and breathable fit. I was torn between buying the classic black which I could get more use out of or this Bright Citrus Pink which makes the trainer somewhat a bit more special and more of a statement to wear. You could probably already guess the ones I went for being someone mad on colour.
I couldn't believe the comfort the shoes gave me, I felt like I could bounce around in them all night. So that's exactly what we did. We both couldn't wait to wear them so we changed into our brand new purchases and wore our first pair of trainers home together ... :)

What is it about the sun that makes everyone so damn happy? That puts a spring in your step when your walking from A to B ( or even to work), that makes the stranger in the street smile at you when you walk past. That gets everyone all together, whether it's relaxing in the park or socialising in a cute English Pub Garden.
I don't know about you, but after just one weekend filled with brilliant sunshine, I've never felt more elated or better yet...inspired. Within just this weekend I've produced an endless list of everything I want to do:

-Start up my driving lessons again

-Sort the hell out of my blog

-Finish the book I started 3 months ago (which is painfully dragging on - but then again I guess it would do only reading 2 pages a night before I pass out to sleep)  Ha, so wait... In that case better add this to the list...

-Sleep less/ or cut out my naps. Do you realise that we sleep for half of our lives...HALF. That's not counting the lazy Sundays where we treat ourselves to a lie in, or when we're dying from a hangover from the night before. Anyway my topic wasn't suppose to steer off on our guilty sleeping patterns.

-Hang out in London because it seems a pretty cool place, heard it's one of the best apparently. I want to learn more about my city!!! Dine out at amazing restaurants, discover cool little dingy bars, chill out in the many beautiful parks, fly a kite (which really is up there on my to-do list)

This sudden realisation occurred to me after the past year I've found myself become tired, unenergised and in all honestly somewhat lazy. Turns out my body is low in B12 and I have to have stupid injections to fight my fatigue. But that's another story I probably will not ever tell you about. However after being exposed with a few days of sunlight, I'm thinking well, maybe it's not this B12 I'm lacking in, maybe it's Vitamin D! I feel alive, and I feel inspired.

(Back to the list)

I want to start working out, get that so called beach- body everyone keeps going on about.

I want to continue learning Spanish

Begin dance lessons

Learn how to cook

Now I know this sounds very unrealistic to achieve working a 5 day a week job, seeing family and friends, squeeze in some me time. It's worked up a challenge already.  And I know people who know me are like yeah yeah Taylor, and I know myself.  I am someone who wants to do absolutely EVERYTHING I can set my hands on, I'm a YES girl. I want to do everything there is possible in life so I can experience and get the most out of life. But see, that's not always good, because I'll say yes to everything until I find that something else to get excited/distracted about, where I'll then get lost in what I'm doing and give up. And it kind of goes around like that in a circle.

This year, I really want to find a way to stay motivated in something, at least starting with one of things from my list. So I can have a whole summer to feel healthy, feel excited, energised, and more importantly...inspired.

And if all else fails.. well then I guess I'll have to move to California where it's just sunny all the time.

Perfectly PINK

I am in love with my new dress from ASOS. If there is anything better than a pink dress it's a two- tone pink dress. ASOS is my absolute favourite website for dresses, I can always rely on it to find something to my taste, I just need a bit of colour, or pattern and preferably a midi dress to twirl around in. My heels which I bought last summer I found went perfect with the dress. They create a cool contrast with the bright orange against the pink satin. I have never felt so girly :D
