So I originally bought this crochet sheer dress to wear on the beach. I was making the illogical decision of buying it in September knowing full well I would not be seeing the sun, sea and sand any time soon... and I was definitely not waiting around until next summer.
Therefore, I decided to use my dress as top. You should never be too restricted when it comes to how you can wear your clothes. Especially with dresses! A dress is all in one, easy and effortless, but it can be so much more. I used to always wear my dresses, well, exactly how you see them, as a dress. But its fun to experiment and turn your dress into a skirt just by simply belting in a top over the top, Or, if you love the top of a dress, add a skirt and you can achieve a completely different look.

I love the juxtaposition in today's look, the cream sheer dress offers a feminine contrast to the hard leather skirt.

There is a major heatwave in London at the moment and I was lucky to have the day off to take some blog photos. For this outfit I kept to a white colour palette with subtle silver accessories. Nothing screams summer like a fresh all white look. I love the brightness it reflects in the sunshine. This skirt still stands as one of my favourite midi's I possess, I love the femininity and delicacy of the fabric and embroidery.

I spent my Sunday doing what every typical Sunday is best for.
Breakfast in Shoreditch eating mouth-watering syrup pancakes, surrounded by the buzzing crowds of people and delicious smells from Spitalfields market.
An afternoon taking a long walk with my Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniels in the park and an evening planned to chill with the family devouring a whole pizza watching the final of the World Cup. I refuse to think about work just yet.

Predicting a miserable weekend, the weather turned around and we got beautiful sunshine. Everything looks so much more captivating and picturesque when the suns out. I love to wear colour any time in the year but when there is sun shines the colours look bigger and brighter. Today's pictures were taken outside my favourite museum of all time, The Imperial War Museum. I highly recommend anyone visiting London to go, it holds intriguing history and activities to get involved in.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!!

My Birks

 Dungarees/ Asos/ £35/ HERE | Shirt/ H&M | Birkenstocks/ Office/ £24.99/ HERE | Bag/ Kate Spade

I feel five years old again in my denim dungarees and birkenstocks. I'm pretty sure I could rustle through a few boxes and find an old picture in my childhood days wearing exactly this combination. However back then, it would much likely be a "What were you thinking Mum putting me in this outfit" moment! It just goes to show how fashions comes back around, which gives me the reason why I am a massive clothes hoarder.
Today I wore my new Birkenstocks. They could possibly be the ugliest shoes I have worn (only because I have never come across crocs yet and don't intend to) yet there is something appealing about them. I'm still uncertain whether I like the look on me, but it's always important to experiment in fashion! Plus.. their comfort is undeniable, they have a way of massaging my feet as I shuffle along.

What do you think of this new Birkenstock craze?

fun flats

I'm not going to lie and say I haven't been spending my whole lunch times hunting for shoes, because that would be silly. I wouldn't be able to show you the amazing flats I found in the sale! In the summer I love to treat my feet and give them a break! Today I bought these black Birkenstocks and I think it's safe to say they are my most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Ever. I also want them in white!
